Eve Melia

Biography

Eve Melia is a North Yorkshire based artist. Throughout the seasons, she has been inspired to paint popular tourist spots around Harrogate and beyond, with a vibrant use of colour and detail, and her preferred medium of acrylic paint.

Eve takes inspiration from fairytale-like towns such as Knaresborough where she spent her childhood, the spa town of Harrogate where she lives now, and the gorgeous Yorkshire coastline where she visits every year.

Her artwork sings of nostalgia and happy memories of the good old haunts, by using an inviting composition, and the warmth of the entire colour wheel. Her painting style has been described as looking 'so real, yet when you look closely it looks like a dream instead of reality.'

Since early childhood, Eve was unstoppable when it came to drawing, including all over walls and tables! Time went on and the passion only flourished. In school, Eve was always one of her art teacher's most enthusiastic students. Beyond the walls of the classroom and into adulthood, painting consistently remained Eve's afternoon escape and a source of great distraction, as she fine-tuned her skills and style, learning as she went.

What started as a hobby gradually gained momentum and developed into portrait commission work. She then discovered a true love for landscape painting, inspired by the abundance of beautiful locations all around her. Eve now divides her time between assisting AC Gallery customers in the Harrogate shop, and continuing to paint local scenery which can also be seen in progress in Harrogate.
